Gardens Of Adonis Poem by abu tarek md tahsin

Gardens Of Adonis

In a garden
Far from this chaotic city
Where fireflies dance
And birds make rest

Comes a laughter
Through the cool
Spring air

Where
Maidens dance
And Anemone blooms

"Come alight
My dearest friends"
Rises a melody
From the eternal grave!

Come my friends
Let us eat and dance
For the sorrows of the world
Have all but left us

No heavenly maiden
Did hear such melody

All but from
The tears of Adonis!

The tears of Adonis
Did rise from his grave
And where it flowed
A garden was made

And during every spring
When dusk grew in the air
One could hear
A call
Echoing in the winds
And the air

"Come alight
My dearest friends"

"Come my friends
Let us eat and dance
For the sorrows of the world
Have all but left us"

And maidens came forth
and men rejoiced
till morning arose
and the world
fell silent
