From You Poem by Joanna Pavlides

From You

Rating: 5.0

Can't put the message
In a bottle
Because it won't float
In our sea of anger and hurt

May write a prayer instead
To the angels
For both of us to see sense
For you to understand

That it's not really nonsense
Contrary to what you said
No point running away
It will catch up with us in the end

Admit you were wrong
And I'll admit my guilt too
As on that night then
I did want to hurt you

And easily succeeded
I saw the pain in yours eyes
The other day you were curious
To see mine

Written all over my face
Impossible to hold inside
No matter how I try
It will not hide

With time I hope
I'll learn to pretend
That the beginning never came
Or there was no end

Which option I choose
I don't know just yet
Whichever one
Will make me not forget

The feelings I gave
The ones that I got

from you
