From The Unknown Gardener - Dedicated To R.A. Butler

Rating: 2.8

Rise from your sleep Gabriel
Best of your kind!
You've been blameless in your ways
Taking my sign
To the realm of mortal men.
There you must go again
To bring my word, and put it
In the ears of Rachel Ann.

Not that she deserves it more
Than the others,
The lonely, the sick, the old.
Childless fathers.

Greet her in the name of
The unknown gardener
In the shape of a lonely wanderer
Say these words,
these words only before you take off:

The lock she tries to pick
Is open
The book she tries to read
Unwritten
The tree she tries to seek
Well hidden
And the seal on faith she wants to see
Is broken.

Rise and go now Gabriel,
You know your task.
And one thing above all:
Stay silent if she asks.
