Friday Night Excitement Poem by Marilyn Lott

Friday Night Excitement

Friday nights are so exciting
Out on the football field
Cheerleaders yelling encouragement
Excitement is beginning to build

You can see balloons against
The sunset up in the sky
Hearts are pumping happily
Or perhaps are ready to cry

But that’s the results of sports
When two teams agree to meet
One team will be the winner
The other must face defeat

They all do their very best
To be ready to face their rival
They fight hard as they are taught
After all, it’s about survival

But the point of the game is always
That they try to do their best
And once that game is over
They can take time for a little rest!
