Frictions Poem by Saanumi ikujuni

Frictions

As the night wore on
Angry or bitter revelations built
An atmosphere of shame and revulsion

In this situation
Evidence shows great courage
An unusual clarity of mind

T'was now touch and go
Nobody was sure of the answer
However recalcitrant it might be

The question was:
Who would prevail?
Drawing on a detailed memory

The end, again, was disaster
Signaling an unavoidable failure
Towards the latter paths.

Evasive answers were not enough
Tentative with apparent confidence
Yet, this was only half the trouble

If you had a say in the war
Then you can claim a voice-
In the peace.
