Homage To Father Poem by Saanumi ikujuni

Homage To Father

He laid principles in me
Besides this i have peace
I respect him from deep-within
Not only because he loved me.

Easy-going with standard conscience
Ever-ready to avert violence
Oh! what a rare talent
In a mind business.

Homage i pay from the nadir
For while I in the nascent
He gave me a naevus
Different from common nomenclature.

Now, not only a father
But, a mentor-futher
His demeanour, an extinguisher
Towards all the back-biters.

His principles i hold on to
For this will lead me through
Thus, homage i pay again:
To father, a 'magnanimous cachet'.
