Freedom Oh Freedom Poem by Zakhele Anigon

Freedom Oh Freedom

Freedom oh freedom,
I lust for you continually
Like a broken record,
On yearning stuck perpetually

How many of us have died for you
How many of us thought they had you
How many actually got you
How fast they have lost you

How many of us over did you screw
To how many were you faithful, true?
How many daren't dream of you
Are we sadder with the idea of you

A price, ever riching
A glory, ever reaching
A sentence, ever dreading
A chase, unsuspending

Freedom oh freedom
I fear of you continually
Like a child in a dark room
Terrified perpetually

The sun has shown
In the light I have seen
I've seen a way
A way that's never been

I'll write it down
I'll get into cartography
I'll design the cogs
Save them mythistorically

So someone stronger might one day get you
So our helplessness one day will not protect you
