Freedom is in my hand

Music embraces me
Poetry frees me
Love enables me
Nature inspires me
Destiny awaits me
Calling come find me
But I sit here alone
Pen in hand writing
My agony growing
Soul overflowing
Freedom beckons me
Tempting me constantly
It's within my reach
Grab it, taste it

Silence is bondage
Holding me hostage
If I keep it all within
I will never find who I am
I will be forever bound
Poetry is my release
Showing the beauty
Revealing the beast

There is peace here
I can rest
Calm are my fears
Slow deep breaths
Tomorrow is another challenge
So I savour this moment
My inner thoughts I pour out
Leaving myself empty
Drowning myself in healing
Listening to poetic melodies
Freedom is in my hand

Poem of the Day

poet Sir John Suckling

Dost see how unregarded now
That piece of beauty passes?
There was a time when I did vow
To that alone;
