Free Will, An August Kite Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Free Will, An August Kite

Rating: 5.0

Vermilion red, the August kite
Dares and dithers in the sky,
Zooms to tautness, zips to crest,
Soars and swings to dive and dance,
Dizzy, drunken, tragic clown,
Held in leash and heaved on winds,
Stunned to shame by solemn stars.

Mine is the freedom of the kite.

This cannot be a teenager's finding! It contains so much wisdom! Even the free will is held in leash! The image of the kite dithering and zooming in the sky is so catchy! Succinct and profound!
