Fred Fled (Limerick) Poem by Spock the Vegan

Fred Fled (Limerick)

While riding with my old friend Fred
He fell from the trail up ahead
He lost his grip
And so he did slip
And now my old friend Fred is dead

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This story is fictional, but I do have an old friend Fred who still rides a motorcycle to this day. Kim Barney gave me this idea when he wrote a similar limerick about me.

A suggestion for a happier line 5: I'm glad old Fred's alive, not dead.

Oh, but then nobody would learn from this poem! Thanks anyway. I didn't give this one a lot of time to digest.

Whew! I was glad to get to the poet's note and find out this was fictional. I used to have a motorcycle, and still have a motorcycle endorsement on my driver's license, but I don't think my wife would ever let me get another motorcycle at my age. I'm also not really sure I want another one. Maybe an ATV to ride in the mountains would be O.K.
