Four Compass Points Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Four Compass Points

Beauty lies frozen in death's embrace
Reclining within a coffin
Four compass points of my life
Now still and silent like stone.

In life my daily road, route to light
Seed of love's wondrous flowering
Rock within stormy seas
Sweetest truth death cannot deny.

Time stopped hard and cruel
Stars, sun and moon no more
For my love has gone from me
The universe forbidding darkness.

My lover was my morning
Noon and night, breath I took
Beginning and ending of each day
Soulmate - - very beating of my heart.
