Foxes In The Garden Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Foxes In The Garden

(For John and Tina Selley)

Bushy tailed trusting vixen
Returning each year
Giving birth, raising young.

Cubs bright-eyed and boisterous
Full of fun playing on the lawn
Guarded by proud vixen
As human friends look on
Watching from kitchen window.

Knowing humans
Feels safe with den in back garden
Cubs safe from foxhounds
And when summer ends
Goes away young safely raised.
