Forsaken Poem by elaine geneston

Forsaken

Rating: 5.0

I don’t understand why I feel so alone
Like a poor little bird lost in the dawn
I have plenty of friends but I feel I’m still alone
It felt like they have their own world
Which I don’t belong

I don’t understand why they can be happy
Seeing me frustrated, doomed and unhappy
I feel so betrayed, it doesn't seem they care
My existence doesn't thrill them
As if I'm not with them

I don't understand why I'm still trying
Though trying to relate with them ended me crying
I hate it every time I throw fake smiles to them
Pretending to be okay even though I'm really not
Just not to look weak on their harsh sight

I don't understand why I feel so forsaken
I'm living in a world who doesn't like me
Though how hard I try I still keep on failing
Maybe I was born to be rejected
... A lonely girl covered with fear and emptiness
Blinded with darkness got lost in the world: 'c

Such a sad poem, Elaine. Sometimes you have to really look for happiness, it doesn't come and find you. Happiness comes in so many forms; the sunrises and sunsets, the flowers and birds, children laughing. A kitten or puppy's cute little tricks. Look for it and you will find it, trust me. Good luck! Warm Wishes, Marilyn
