Forgive And Forget Poem by Joanie Tarr

Forgive And Forget

Why does it hurt so much when I say Hello
Why do you make me feel so shallow?
You took me away night and day,
Yet you never looked at me that way?

You said you loved me, the woman I was
Yet you broke me down, as shattered Glass!

To come to you again and again,
I only made myself relive the pain
But I stood up and took my life back
Took my stuff and started to pack.

Now I'm out and the day is done,
There is no victory where no one won!
But I stand now on the sidelines to see
What kind of person you'll turn out to be

Time and time again I turn around grateful
To have left the man so hurt and hateful
Don't you see it's only you you destroy?
People are more than your little toy!

Get up! Off the floor! Look at yourself for once
Forgive and forget, Wait, and let the glue first set!
