Forever Young Poem by olayinka samson aremu

Forever Young

Oh my! How time hurries like winged-chariot
Though Seasons last but not long like lifetime
I wish to remain forever young but
Race after this resource seems unending.

Why is it made so inevitable?
So much would I have love this bridegroom if
The groomsmen walks together hand in hand.
Lo, they antagonised one another
And their conflict is immeasurable

Why did I have to die after my birth?
Why will I be happy and later sad
Some were promoted, others were removed
And there's time for everything, so they say.

All are inevitable. They must be.
Just like sun, moon and the stars in their course
There exist no trou-de-loup to delay
Time to sow, springtime and time of harvest

How much I wish I remain immortal
But so I'll wish till my time passed away
My chattered dreams turns to dust, blows away.
Behold, forever young shall never be.
