Forever The Same Poem by Rebekah O'Donley

Forever The Same

For where is my heart... Sir, I truly do not know
Where is this beating, I've grown accustomed to flow
Where is the reflection, that seems to be so true
For, Sir, who I see now, truly mustn't be you

Where has my soul gone to, as vacancy lingers amiss
As these sullen eyes are filled with tears of strained bitterness
For, Sir, you could only shatter the silence that scalds flesh past the bone
And turned the blueprint of reality, into a sculpture unknown

Where have my hands gone, for the ascension of my lips sings their song
They do deceive me with excessively voracious guile
And the searing pain is secretly hidden in each and every smile
Oh, my calamity! You are yet so near...
You fool... who you see, is truly you, in this miraged mirror

No part to play, oh Sir, for you are truly I
We are truly one indeed, and share each separate sigh
Replenish once more, your mind, that lacks distinction
And you, oh Sir, are no longer the part of my extinction

Whether matters take, a dropp of every blood, or a recanting of your name
You and I, together, apart, sin and purity, shall forever be... the same.
