A Finite Poem by Rebekah O'Donley

A Finite

Thou art as mine own soul, thou placeth every beat upon its staff
Thy flesh cleaveth unto my bones
And they gravity circumvents my spirit in its chambers
I'm bound betwixt thy whispers, gentle as the wind
From a toss, to and fro, your vapour memorized
Thy bow had rained streaming arrows, and each has shaken the brim
Every lightning strike has searched my depth
To illuminate the shadows, and brighten every star
My last request to draw me by thy side, my fierce and humble knight
For herein, is love, to lay down this life
To engrave a tombstone, by the midnight roaring of thy sea
Thine kaleidoscope reflection, opened the door, to my flight
That neither light nor darkness, life nor death
Could wash away such an infinite love, born of me, a finite
