Forever My Son Poem by Laura Anne

Forever My Son

Rating: 5.0

You are my son, a piece of me, and that will never alter,
No matter what you do in life my love will never falter.
As I held you my little one and I looked into your eyes,
I knew, life from now on would be full of surprises.

I knew when I first held you; you would grow to be a man,
and whatever you did in life I would try to understand.
I know you will make choices and will follow your heart,
I merely pray that in your life I’ll always have a part.

I know you’ll do things that will give me so much pride,
But I understand too some will tear me up inside.
My wish is only the best for you and for you always to succeed,
and hope for you to find fulfillment with everything you need.

I can direct you and give you a helping hand;
but you’ll have to choose your own path, for now you’re a young man.
As you journey down the boulevard of life, where ever that may be,
just remember this, my son, you can count on me.

I will try not to push you, your wishes I will do my best to abide,
I promise this, that I will love you and stand by your side.
Never forget that in my heart you are always my extraordinary one,
and I will forever proudly say to the world, you are my son.

This is a beautiful poem of motherhood. So difficult it is to see them make the mistakes they must make to get through life for we love them so much. We don't want them to be hurt. And then when we have grandkids we go through the same things. But, we wouldn't change a thing. Great poem about your son. Loved it! A '10! ' Warm Wishes, Marilyn
