For Dear Vinhie
(to read to him)
along the Dutch meadows
there are no shadows
I feel the wind is strongest
the breeze is here hardest
their sounds are quietest
while I'm looking around
to homeward bound
along the Dutch meadows
there are no sparrows
people told me
our country is void of these societal creatures
my thoughts immediately go to Amsterdam
will the situation be the same?
as far as I know
most houses are on the dike
since Amsterdam is 12 meters below sea level
my mind wanders
from the meadows-sparrows-no shadows up to the dike
what would downtown Amsterdam look like?
cozy without any bike? feels very strange
along the Dutch meadows
there are no shadows
not a single tree,
no sparrows,
nobody but me
thank you almighty Lord
that you accompanied me

Vinhie is your affectionate grandson. You have travelled with him. Beautiful memories you have gathered. An excellent poem is well penned.
Thank you so much, dear Rini, for your wonderful comment and compliment. Your precious visit is most appreciated.
The photographs is beautiful and you have made a beautiful poetic expression of solitude snd quietness thst rules the moment as o well. Beautiful poetic expression. Iyes Vinhie eill dance to its tune..
Thank you so much, dear Varsha, for your constant support, they oft sounds so fscinating!
God's creations vary so vastly. But each every one is enviously beautiful in its own way. Whether is the meadows, the prairies or the Amazon forests or even the polar ice caps. Sylvia, you have the eyes and heart of a little child, when you behold the nature. Keep it up.5 stars
