I was thinking about Fathers Day, and how much I miss my Dad. So I thought I would share this letter/ poem I sent him, for his birthday when I was a little girl. His birthday was June 23 and he would have been 94 this week. About a year ago, I found a bag, in it, was every card we ever made or bought for him. I couldn't bring myself to read them until recently. This one made me cry. Here goes
For all that you have given me
For all that you have given me
For the love that you have given me
For the home that you have given me
For three brothers you have given me
For my one sister you have given me
For all that you have given me
I wish to say a prayer
That God will repay you and keep you
In his care
as reminisce of loved one ramifies into oblivion, heart cries yet tearing deeper within, too much poignant to read, thanks for sharing
Hi Lisa, A very nice poem evidencing your love for your dad as well as for the family; and of course, exuding the innocence of the childhood. Even as a child, you poetic sense is astonishing. Great work to share today. I adore it.
