For A Voice I Might Hear Poem by Linda Barnes

For A Voice I Might Hear

Rating: 5.0

Your voice resounds
In my dreams at night
A picture emerges
Of conversations we had

A replay of a movie
Of a lifetime with mine
Followed by the silence
Your voice shuts down

Closing my eyes
Wanting to remember
All of our interactions
Of years cut too short

I pray and fall asleep
For another round of dreams
When you reappear
Your life remains here

I awake frustrated
And daydream again
Wishing for nightfall
For a voice I might hear
