I'm not ready to let go
Of the love and friendship
Shared so briefly
Forever holding close

Our hearts were soul mates
As we recognized from the start
So much time missed
We tried to catch up

Your laughter and zest
For a long life you sought
Experiencing a list
Of all the things in sight

Some you managed to see
With the eyes and heart of a child
Open to witness more
Of God's creation while alive

But, time has run out
For all things unseen
A wish list half scratched
Never able to complete

Ellisa, you left this Earth
To be with Jimmy
I will miss you forever
