Florida Florida Florida

Florida is a Great State

You fall in love with Florida

You can not be blamed

Florida offers a lot

It is huge indeed

You can watch its marvels and wonder

It is called the sunshine state

Its shores extends to the Atlantic ocean

Gulf of Mexico and Key West

It was first discovered by the Spaniards

Juan Ponce de León in the sixteenth century

Florida has great cities

From Tallahassee and Jacksonville in the North

to Miami in the South

Clearwater and Saint Petersburg

to Orlando and Disney world

Florida has great tourist attractions

Bush Garden, Sea World and Cape Canaveral

Space exploration missions tell stories

Florida is rich in Orchards

Orange, tangerine and citrus

Sea sports are splendor

deep see fishing and blue skies touching the ocean

Florida is ever growing state

Retirement haven for many

Refuge for the snow birds flock

Escaping the severe northeast harsh winters

Florida is story to tell

from native Indian times

to the Spanish to the English

the St. Augustine refuge

to Seminole trail of tears

to statehood in the young nation

Welcome to Florida for pleasure and joy

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
