Flooding Poem by Devon Maxwell

Flooding

Rating: 3.0

Joyful and so beautiful
at first until a signal calls
and we are departed
i am left here
searching for the tears

Finally pain has stricken me
put into a coma
replaying memories in my head
feeling numb, almost dead

No one saw not even you
see me there, but not even caring
pushing, shoving through the crowd
thinking i was meant to be alone
but there, you ask if i was okay
I'M NOT OKAY
...i was never okay

Do you know what this means?
and i hate myself because of it
meaning i love you
how can these words flood in together?
but now my heart is drowning in that flood
and as you look into my eyes i began to realize,
that i really do,
i really love you

I'd like to recomend this poem, but I can't because it goes from here to there. There is no connection for the reader to hold onto. From one state of being to another. GW62
