Five Liners 71-75 Poem by Indira Renganathan

Five Liners 71-75

Rating: 5.0

71 Not To Sleep

As I am counting stars for a dreamy sleep
A sudden fragrance strikes me..where from..
I look around..Your anklets tinkle my
Jasmine's arrival.Dream coming true
No counting stars now for a dreamy sleep

72 Change

Change should be constant in life
Without change life can not meander
Like a river that goes meandering
To merge with the ocean..its salvation
Change should be constant in life

73 Atheism

Atheism is disbelief in God
Atheists practise belief in self
Disbelieving God. But their reasoning
Or questioning can never create
Or destroy the already self manifested God

74 Fortune

Fortune can not be purchased
Nor can be awaited. Comes on its own
With an invisible prefix 'Mis-'
To vanish to come back in a cycle
Unpredicted. Means, 'it can never be chased'

75 Brimato
Science can invent many
Brimato is one such much
Beneficial economically
Brinjal and tomato in one plant
Plentiful to serve many

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: 'Brimato', A Hybrid Plant That Yields Both Tomato And Brinjal Scientists at Indian Council of Agriculture Research's Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (ICAR-IIVR) in Varanasi have successfully come up with a new technique to grow plants capable of delivering both brinjals and tomatoes Each 'Brimato' plant is capable of yielding 2.3 kgs of tomatoes and 3.4 kgs of brinjal or eggplant The plant was developed through dual grafting. In this process, two or more 'scions' belonging to the same plant family are grafted together to elicit the 'brimato' effect The vegetables do not grow as a rancid hybrid version, but instead retain their original characteristics as individual veggies. Grafting refers to the process of regenerating plant tissue to join different types of plants by placing a part of one plant into the branch, root or stem of the plant.

An expertly worded portrayal of the grafting method of vegetative propagation insightfully penned with conviction. A beautiful creation, Madam. Remain enriched.
