Fire And Ice Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Fire And Ice

Rating: 5.0

Fire and ice

I was raging from inside
The difference was spreading wide
I was visibly moved but could not hide
As it was apparent from all the sides

Why was I hated for single reason?
That I was poor and hence can’t called person
Or was it simple color combination?
That put me in very big question

I did come up from middle class
But it was not simple pass
I countered problems at each stage
Even though I was fast coming up with the age

My childhood was fuelled by apathy
As I was shown no sympathy
Parent were subjected to mean respect
As I observed it with regret

The fire was slowly rising
It was hatred sans love comprising
What more was to do any harm than this?
It was giving me pain long tease

The jungle fire can be extinguished
A person can be honored and distinguished
The life can be doe away with or finished
But this internal fire was finding no chance to be diminished

Thank God I was little sympathetic for social cause
I had seen hatred and hence did not mind because
I knew it will engulf all if encouraged
I confined to self, controlled and managed

It is nice to see if fire is easily put off
It will be very difficult if aided by wind and not stopped
That may cause wide spread damage and bring disaster
We all need to control it as children without our master

No one may come forward and show you the way
It has to be pushed and never be allowed to stay
If give little quarter even unknowingly
That may result and cast doom convincingly
