Fine Day Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fine Day

Fine Day

Took Garry's "Fine Day" and
Drank my tequila.

Next step was to be
Recalling our old vine…

We slept together,
My cousins, brothers,
And leader was Ahmad.

He was the smartest
And great orator.

He mingled, entangled
Fictions with history…

Great were the endings,
Excellent for learning.

One of them, was about
A boy, I, always love.

Want to be that hero
That led the story.

He, from good blood
Was robbed and squashed.

Of course, by the corrupt
And cruel, like Trump.

"I must and I will take
Whatever is my right…"

Said boy, and started
Finding set of friends…

His army was of mix of
Of men and animals,
Almost same as Marx's
Little book: "Manifest! "

"All, shall and will unite
For fighting Corrupt Tsar…"

Finally, the young boy
Gathered the lamb and wolf
And chicken, fox, melon,
All the way to the worms,
To remove Demon's Crown!

Our bed was nothing but
Old mattress on the ground
And homemade blanket,
A quilt or a Lahaf.

With eyes fixed on sky,
We got lost in stars,
Some darker, some bright
With few on the run,
A lot massed, became white
To build path to Mecca,
Yes, I mean: "Milky Way."

We knew not, then, and
Do not want to accept
The myth of photosynthesis.

Ignorance is bliss,
So, we were fearless,
Unaware and thoughtless
That carbon monoxide
Rose from leaves at night!

To "Fine Day" said goodnight
And again, became child.

Slept in balcony
Mine, small and tiny.

And dreamt of old days
That slept under trees
With skies wide, endless,
We, the kids, fell asleep!
