'Finding Grip' Poem by L.C. Morgan

'Finding Grip'

Don’t ever think I don’t care
That thought I cannot bear

I’m sorry it came to this
Your smile I’ve come to miss

I’ve never kept a secret from you
Everything about me you already knew

But more important than me
Is the possibility to free

You and I from this Hell
From Heaven, together we fell

But that doesn’t mean we can’t soar
I will never let you hit the floor

I promise you we can fly
As long as we still try

I’m sorry it seems as if I let you slip
Because of my one-time dip

But I’ve found my grip again
On you, my very best friend.
