Fell For Another. Poem by Alexis Weiermann

When I first looked at you,
I thought 'He's perfect'.
When I first looked into your eyes,
I saw hope.
When you first held me,
I felt safe.
When you first kissed me,
I felt loved.

After awhile it all started to fade.
You quit putting so much love into it.
I thought 'What am I doing wrong? '
But it wasn't me,
It was you.
You were falling for another.
I knew there was nothing I could do.
I asked you and you denied.
Of course I knew it was true.

I should have let you go,
But I just loved you so.
I continued to hold on to you,
Thinking 'It's okay, it will pass.'
But it never did.

Finally I saw you with her.
You were just friends,
But the way you looked at her,
It told me my time was up,
You've moved on,
And so should I.

I walked over to you and whispered in your ear,
'I love you,
This is true,
Which is why I do what I do.
Things aren't working out
I can tell.'
You grabbed me and asked me what I was talking about,
I didn't answer but whispered some more.

'I'll see you around.
I won't be jealous,
But I'll always have a heart for you.'
Then I walked off.
You were confused I could tell,
But my words were ringing in your head.

Then it hit you,
I had just broken up with you.
You couldn't help but smile.
You grabbed the girl you had fallen for,
And asked her if she wanted to be yours.
Of course she said yes,
Who could deny you?
You kissed her there,
Hard and long.
I couldn't help but remeber,
When it was me.

I knew I'd miss you,
But I could cope.
I went home,
I called a friend,
Asked if they wanted to chill,
They asked
'Why would you wanna chill with me when you have your boy? '
I admitted I was rude,
But that things were through.

We were out all night,
Having a grand time.
Flirting with every guy in sight.
A few asked if we would go home with them,
Of course we denied,
We were just having fun,
Not looking for a relationship anymore.
