Feeling Light Poem by Valsa George

Feeling Light

Rating: 5.0

Left alone in a twilight zone
I am enveloped in a rare stillness
In the monotonous regularity of grinding chores
In the monochrome of existence
When work should have been a burden
When life becomes an endless strife
Suddenly I feel light...

Is it that I lose grip of realities
Or the mind, playing truant!
A way to camouflage the truth?
However, the mood of heaviness
Gets suddenly washed away

I feel like a ship adrift on a dead sea
My rudderless vessel keeps sailing idly
Is it an escape from the winds of pain?
Or a falling asleep inside a dream?

I am often so much dejected and frustrated that I need an escape from the truth. Human mind is so amazing that it crafts a different word where every thing and every person is different, and what of others, I see myself a different man. This dreaming before a sleep brings a mental relief and helps me to sleep whole night. I love this escape. Your poem on escape touched my heart.

Or a falling asleep inside a dream? Or a dream camouflaged in sleep? State that clears the mind is beautifully captured in your beautiful poem.

Amidst the hurry n scurry of life, an occasional escape is a must for the mind. I think it's natural that our mind throws off all the weight suddenly when it has lived long under a stress. A beautiful depiction of escape from the worldly hassles that are a matter of routine for most of us. It's good to let go and drift into a dream sometimes. A huge 10. I'm feeling light too after reading it.

Yes, when we are doing monotonous chores and we are stressed sometimes a feeling light envelops us with rest and peace to give us a well earned break a light relief in the drudgery of endless chores! Brilliant write!

Sometimes we have to get away from stressful realities to allow our overworked mind to recover. Thanks Valsa.

Feeling light or the letting go of physical or psychological pain are a gift of the mind. I think sometimes the everyday trivial things can help us to forget our heavier problems. Sometimes this pain can grip so hard it is difficult to enjoy our existence...and when we can, we celebrate. Having this be a rhyming poem makes such great sense to me. So well expressed. Thanks!

Rare stillness is very well felt in first stanza of this poem. Remaining is stillness in twilight zone has brought vision of beautiful imagery in this poem. In the monochrome of existence we feel work as burden but sometimes life becomes endless strife. At same time we feel light. This light is mood of relaxation. This light is wisdom of justification. This light gives us power of response. Rudderless vessel keeps sailing idly that is a ship adrift on a dead sea. This may be reality inside dream or dream or completely reality. But this definitely carries value of light and we should bear light ever to lead life. An outstanding poem is shared here.10

Thank you so much Bhargabi for taking your time off to read this poem and write such a wonderful critique! A times we feel so overburdened. Then the mind resorts to an escape mechanism which is very much needed to prevent us from entering into an emotional trauma...! After drifting away aimless for sometime, it can come back to realities in better light and face them with greater confidence......

Amidst grinding chores of daily life, it is at times, a difficult or rather a tired mind that plays havoc.. Once we break free of the bodily compulsions, we are free to enjoy the life for what it is. An escape is a temporary phase. Again, we are back into the grill. Very well done, Valsa!
