Feeling Good Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Feeling Good

Rating: 5.0

Happiness is not a constant
It is something that is fluid

It ebbs,
It comes and it goes

All the riches in the world
cannot buy happiness

All the power and might
Mean naught

Happiness is something
That comes from within

It makes your heart glad
It brings a smile

But, it will only
Last for awhile

Although happiness is not constant still this has definite impact on human life. With rising and falling all richness of beauty motivate mind and we feel life with respect to happiness. This is an excellent poem very well penned.10

You are so right about feeling good and happiness-it does not last for long and death is so hard to take. No one is happy about the death of a parent or child.

A great poem. This, I think, is your best one on this site. However, I think happiness can be more than fleeting. The sadness that comes with the death of a parent or child is what is fleeting if you are truly happy to start with. And on your own death bed, if you have already made peace with your God, you have nothing to be unhappy about. Death is but a transition to another life, one without pain. Once when I had horrible pain from kidney stones I thought I was going to die, and wished that I would. Death would have been such a relief. Anyway, as I said, great poem. Well done. |
