Feathered Single Mom Poem by Ima Ryma

Feathered Single Mom

A fiery throated hummingbird,
All rainbow colors are on me.
And being female I'm assured
I'm as gorgeous as the male be.
I mate with male then after that
I'm a single mom on my own
In Costa Rica habitat
In the cloud forest mountain zone.
I build my nest, lay my eggs, hatch,
Make sure my young are well cared for,
Feed them chewed up bugs that I catch,
And they're always hungry for more.

When bugs are hunted as my prey,
I can catch two thousand a day.
