Feathered Cloak Poem by robyn nathan

Feathered Cloak

I've watched the Sun colour you
A still moment of breath
And then dance to this tender touch
That permeates your whole being
Awaken
Now we open
Unfold the tightly held intention of being
All beauty has arisen

Feathered feet will restore
The honouring of your sacredness
I AM treading with tenderness the body of my Mother
That she will only know the gentle touch of embrace
As I breathe always her breath
My footprints forever upon her flesh
Beneath her flesh
I AM her flesh

To my Grandmother
The smell of you to scent my way
To lay in your roots
All the colours and soft texture of form
Wrap around me
Mould me to fit into this vessel
May the roots of our existence be forever held in the depth of the Earth
Carried far, far beyond what is seen
I AM feathered in her cloak

Then when I see you
My heart will melt into the River Love
All is not lost
If you are listening
