Shedding Poem by robyn nathan

Shedding

My beloved's embrace
breathe in this sweet scent
honey in the wilderness
touch me with your soft fronds
that I may know the pleasure of soft touch
my skin alive

shadow,
we are the same walking the earth
know we are imprinted in each others path
never alone
I embrace you my beloved
in the mystery of this breath
this step
this unfolding into each other

I am yours
feeling everything as one emotion
there is nothing between us
I am part of this path
as tree
as bird
as stone
I am
and you and I will peel back the layers on layers
shedding till we come to new growth
