Fear Poem by Alicia Erickson

Fear

I can’t breath. I am trying, but I can’t.
My breath comes in as short ragged gasps
My hands start to shake uncontrollably
I’m cold.
I’ve got the shivers, like spiders and snakes
Crawling and slithering
Through my hair and down my neck
My eyes start to dart and search
For my fear,
I look back and forth through the crowd
But I see nothing and suddenly
I stop!
I see the walls of the room closing in and crumble
Crumbling and leaving me in the dark closed space.
There is no escape.
I’m alone
