Falling To My Misery Poem by Eric Markisen

Falling To My Misery

i live in the dark so i dont have to see you anymore
i cause myself pain so i dont have to feel you anymore
no matter how much i long to see your face
i know i cannot leave this place
this state of mind
im the guy who stayed
who you left behind
who you'd hope would never find
his way
who never found his time to play
who never found his place to stay
i found it
and you cant make me leave
you wont let me leave
this emotion that i face
this strange and disfunctional place
in this state i cant taste
dry mouth and heavy eyes
i force to drown out my cries
and my sorrows fly
and to the sky they die
and to the naked eye
i may seem fine
but i've lost my grasp of time
my grasp of you
my grasp of life
and everything i wanted to
kill with my thoughts
im losing my grip
on it all
please catch me
or i might fall
