Fall Poem by Jean Dament

Fall

Gone now are those hot summer days;
When we camped & swam in cool lakes & rivers,
They now give way to colorful leaves on display,
There's a chill in the air too that makes one shiver;
And children play in fallen leaves with much glee,
We'll all put on warmer clothes & take long walks for fun,
No longer will we be sailing out at sea;
Since we've been chased indoors... once those cool temps have begun,
The farmers' harvests enhance the celebration of Thanksgiving;
Where pumpkins will add to the joy of Halloween,
And we'll smell the scent of wood burning from fireplaces that warm & embellish our living;
Then frost will soon cover everything, but so far it's yet unseen.

Spiritsong,
