Faith In A Friend Poem by Noah Body

Faith In A Friend

Rating: 5.0

He questions his life and feels let down by “friends”
they have disappointed him over and over again.

They said “you can trust me, with anything you say”
then he tells them his thoughts and they run away.

No where to turn, they have all disappeared
why did he tell them, what they didn’t want to hear

The darkness that follows him every single day
the confusion, the sadness, a life of disarray

His jumbled thoughts he must keep inside
he has no where to turn and just wants to hide.

Who can he trust with his deepest of doubts
the pain is unbearable and just needs to come out

He bangs his head and cuts to bleed
to let out the pain in his time of need

He has found a friend he thinks he can trust
but panic sets in and he feels that he must

Must keep it inside or this friend will leave
and he will be alone and truly grieve

A true friend will never turn away
and will listen to all that you have to say.

So trust in this friend, in your time of need
believe that this friend will never leave

When all the others have turned away
Accept that a Real friend will always stay.
No where to turn, they have all disappeared
why did he tell them, what they didn't want to hear

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I've been doing some spring cleaning of my PC (I know, it's fall, well whatever, so I'm a little late, better late then never) and I found my happy records. This is one of them. I did not write this and am not taking credit for it. It was written and originally posted for me by a very special friend, a little over a year ago. The account it was posted under no longer exists and hasn't for quite some time so I know it can no longer be found here. When I read it it brought such tears to my heart, such an upwelling of emotion, that I felt bound to repost it here, to sort of immortalize it. I no longer talk to this friend but I still have a special place in my heart for them and so this is my way of saying thanks. May these words be immortalized here on thoughts for ever.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

There is an infinit grief in knowing the sense of loneliness to want to voice things that know one will ever understand. This work resonates on a lot of levels, thank you for sharing.
