Every Morning Is A Birth Poem by Ezra Cortez

Every Morning Is A Birth

i am a soft fish from the cool drips
of a corner stream.
my baby eyes, they burn wet, newborn kisses
and bite
at the thunderhead free up above
through the wind eyes of the surface
that keeps me
and swings me
and sings me
i scream
"alive! i'm alive! "
