Eternally Yours Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Eternally Yours

Love divine blossomed from their first hello
on the magical night they both met,
he beckoned her onto the dance floor
a last waltz she could never forget.

With two rows of diamonds and glistening pearls
adorning a black satin gown,
her dainty feet glided with elegance and grace
as confetti came floating down.

She admired the cut of his evening suit
and the short modern style of his hair,
he was Prince Charming to her starry eyes
from the moment she thought he might care.

They were as Romeo and Juliet then
passion was all they dreamt of...
now, forty years on, they are Darby & Joan
a ruby set in gold blessed their love.

Once again, the bells will be ringing
with more meaning and depth ever known,
her eternity ring will shout out aloud
'eternally yours ~ yours alone'.
