Entrancing Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Entrancing

Rating: 5.0

Appearances can induce a trance
Creating an illusion of circumstance
Interpretation of information…
Is measured and weighed by inclination

The ordinary is often overlooked
Construed as blasé and mistook
Showy and entertaining invites attention…
As normality blends into a pale dimension

As the limelight dazzles… excitement grows
Over time glamour and glitz eventually slows
A faint chalk outline is all that remains
Rapidly to wash away with subsequent rain

What once was mesmerizing and wonderful
Has lost its luster and become dull
A glowing aura has faded since introduction
A facade melts away … revealing deception

How true. This evokes my experiences of last night watching TV - some of the singers and bands of the 50s and 60s. How they have changed. What happened to all the glitz and glamor? Or in some cases, there was not so much of that, at least not compared with the way things are done nowadays in the entertainment world. But their voices were still special and reminiscent.
