Entitlement Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Entitlement

There is a trend when it comes to having...
Some lay in wait for an opportunity to seize
Taking what is rightly not theirs for a thrill
Gathering the spoils... satisfyingly pleased

A gleam in the eye and an expanding smile
demonstrate a dynamic accomplishment
The atmosphere is filled with agony and pain
As the stealer flaunts with overconfidence

The years drizzle away as erosion takes place
The treasures that once glistened are now dull
The bearer of entitlement is laden with doubt
Deafened by a silence that penetrates the skull
