Empty Cans Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Empty Cans

The foolish man speaks
With the loudest voice
Like little empty cans
That make the most noise.

Those who are hollow,
No wisdom to be found
But full vessels we know
Can silence their own sound.

The more the words
The less, the meaning-
For silence accords
A deeper understanding.

'Silent waters run deep.'

'A fool multiplies words.'

'When words are many, sin is not absent.'
