Edgar Allan Poe's No Show Poem by Jean Dament

Edgar Allan Poe's No Show

A Phantom visitor for decades appeared at the grave of Edgar Allan Poe;
But this year, just like last... was a no show,
No cognac or roses have been carefuly laid;
As was the case for 60 years of homage paid.

It's certain next year fans will once again seek & bet;
That our elusive visitor shows...with the hope he hasn't forever left,
Just like the mysterious departing of Poe's Lenore,
Who returns...NEVERMORE...NEVERMORE.
