Earth Poem by Gerald Brilliant Mtetwa

Earth

Sweet fecund vast earth my love at first sight
You made mine childhood so bright
I caressed your mysterious mountain breasts and
abundant boulder buttocks
Your valleys were my luscious cleavages
Where I played and took rest

Your river thighs sate me with all kinds of healing
While your foliage dress sparkled green
Appealing she drew me closer with sweet fragrances of
maturating flowers and fruits

On your vast belly and navel I found my prey for the pot
Oh earth my love at first sight
Your love is pure and unconditional
Your warmth and moisture causes my heart to
shoot and bloom with sprouts of delight
Oh earth am so in love with you.
