Early In The Morning Poem by Susan Oxford

Early In The Morning

Rating: 5.0

In the quiet and cool dim
as the day begins to bloom,
I hear a soft and stealthy step
as you walk into the room.

I raise my head and turn to you
knowing you are there,
You gently bend your face to mine
and push aside my hair.

Your fingers brush along my jaw
I lift my eyes and our lips meet,
Stirring passion at this soft warmth
And our hearts speed up their beat.

You pull me up and in your arms
I melt in your warm embrace,
Wrapped in the comfort of your love
is by far my favorite place.

Our bodies meet in lover's touch
and move like waves upon the shore,
Until our storm is spent at last
and we hold each other close once more.
