Dregs Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Dregs

Dregs

Too close got our lips
-but without sweet kiss

With me an extrovert
-encounter was simple

In the lift, going down
-I saw her stand calm
-acted as I had, must
-with hello and the hi
-so, silence broke up

She sought change for a "Five"
-searched, could not help her out

"What is for? "
- "Need how much? "
-I questioned and we talked

When noticed was for bus
-I offered her a ride,
-she spelled half-drunk
-rest happened in my car

For me was kind of young
-we spoke and had fun
-in her was sediment
-wine's dreg of ages
-visible in her eyes,

"Were better twenties! "
-woman said, in forties…
-in this way she revealed
-her lacking and her needs
-and that has troubles! "

Of accents, mothers' tongues
-and asked backgrounds
-we spoke and exchanged
-and now has mine; will she call?
-in her eyes saw the dawn; I want dusk!
