Dreams Die Poem by Alice Kwan

Dreams Die

Smooth tears leave a trail of water as they roll down my cheeks
Why did i let it go this far?
Far enough to erase my identity like the dry dust that blows away in the desert
To a far land, stranger to every thing
The green healthy plant that held my dreams grew to large
Holding expetations that crashed hard
Hitting me like a weed, taking every thing i need to live
Gone! I let myself get to high
Crashing! Another dream taking its place
Why do i do this to myself?
It grows and grows, waiting to wither like the strawberries in a hot feild
caving in on themselves, rottening until nothing is left
Dreams die, but why did i let them grow so high.
