Draining Of Love's Pretenses Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Draining Of Love's Pretenses

Heart melting into feelings of misplaced desires, not having
any regard for mysteries of life or a way to search their
puzzling effects upon each of us.

Watching as our hearts are touched, opened and then being
taken advantage of through the years, another having no clue
what love is meant to be during lifetimes of moments.

Insisting upon focusing on jealousy, abuse and perverted lust,
having nothing to do with what love is supposed to be in this
world.

Hearts folding inward, keeping this barbaric ego out of the
reaches of what love was never meant to be, dying inwardly,
never wanting to hear the words, I love you.

Knowing they are selfishly wanting to take everything you
have without giving anything in return, draining personality,
independence and freedom from a woman they profess to love.

They are only telling lies, never listening to the intimida-
tion of being in love, knowing it will never be a truth in
this life ever, staying in a solitary confinement where noth-
ing regarding love can get to it again.
