Down To The Sea Poem by Marianne Scarfe

Down To The Sea

When l go down
Go down to the sea
A warm wind always
Follows me...

I feel soft sand
Beneath my feet
Not pavements
On a dusty street

And at the sea
Gulls shriek
In the sky
And colourful kites
Go floating by

And children's laughter
Fills the air
And breezes ruffle
People's hair.

And l close my eyes
And make a wish
By rock pools
Filled with little fish

A wish that every day could be
As nice as when l go
Down to the sea.

Swish that every day
